Description

Gemstone art, painting done using natural gemstones, the red colors of which come from natural korumdum (ruby) from the Aappaluttoq mine.

All gemstones used in this image are all natural with no treatment and in their original raw form. The gemstones that make up the colors used in this painting are mainly red rubies (Greenland), mother of pearl, opal, zircon, sodalite, quartz, black spinel, flourite and lapis lazuri gemstones.

It usually takes about 2-3 months for an artist to complete an artwork like this.

This pictorial work of art is created by placing natural gemstones, which are glued onto a glass plate after the motif of the Guide in Kangerlussuaq.
